Ken Block - Gymkhana Five

carnecks_weekly_five_gymkhana_5
Its the fifth installment of one of the few automotive-related reasons the internet exists - Ken Block's "Gymkhana". Part 5 is out now and it brings back the tire-tearing, engine-melting, ear-splitting sounds and action of the original Gymkhanas - One, Two, and Three - before the overly 'theatrical' Gymkhana Four. Get ready for nearly 10 minutes of pinpoint precision driving, smoking all-wheel-drive donuts, gravity-defying jumps, and ridiculous methods to getting off a highway exit ramp. Ken Block keeps pushing the limits, whether its with his driving, or with the creative camera angles he uses, and its all for your enjoyment - so Enjoy.

Some People Just Dont Like Italian V12s

carnecks_weekly_five_sv_mad
You'd think owning a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 SV would be a fantastic experience that everyone would have mutual feelings about, but this video proves otherwise. A Lamborghini owner in the busy streets of London makes his Murcielago SV bounce off the rev limiter with some deafening shrieks from the V12's exhaust pipes, only to be confronted by an angry passerby and his mother, who proceed to tell the Lamborghini owner that, essentially, he is disturbing the peace and needs to stop. Its almost painful to watch, because who in their right mind would want to hush the sound of countless years of passionate Lamborghini-Audi engineering filling the city air? A man and his mother, apparently. Enjoy.

A Deer Hits ZO6 At Hyperfest 2012

carnecks_weekly_five_deer
The Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 is an amazing machine, but is it still amazing when a deer plows through the center of the windshield at highway speeds? During the 2012 Hyperfest, in the middle of a heated race, a Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 is overtaking a Mustang competitor, and right as it passes the Mustang, it meets another animal - a deer. I can't blame the guy because after watching the video a few times over, I really cannot fathom where the deer came from, it seems to have teleported out of nowhere just so it could ruin this guy's day. Anyway, Enjoy.

Anthony Davidson 2012 24 Hours Of Le Mans Crash

carnecks_weekly_five_overdrift
Spoiler alert for those of you who haven't seen the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans yet. This is a massive crash that almost makes Allan McNish's crash of 2011 seem ...not so scary. On none other than the very end of one of the fastest, longest straights in all of racing, a Toyota and a Ferrari collide, sending both cars into the tire wall not far from them, at unfortunately high speeds. The intensity of the crash's impact is matched closely by the result - Anthony Davidson breaking two vertebrae. The Ferrari driver Perrazini seems to be alright, but let this be a reminder that all of the excitement racing provides comes at a price.

Overdrift - The Movie

carnecks_weekly_five_overdrift
A long, long time ago two amateur film makers called the "Duncan Bros" created a story about loyalty, competition, drifting, and dinosaurs. That story became a film and was even featured on multi-million-dollar SpeedHunters' website. It seems to be one goofy, tongue-in-cheek tribute to the old, melodramatic Japanese drifting cartoons and movies, and it does its job very well - in 5 minutes flat. This is Overdrift. Enjoy.
